PRIVACY & LIGHT CONTROL

While most available fabrics offer heat and UV protection, they are generally sheer. However, their retractable insect screens are available in translucent and blackout fabric options. The translucent fabrics available for these retractable patio insect screens include several different color options, each providing privacy while allowing a gently filtered light to enter your space.

If you want more privacy, or if you’re building an outdoor entertainment room or other areas you like dark, we also carry a selection of blackout fabrics. These retractable insect screens can turn night to day, allowing you to enjoy your screens fully. All of these shades still offer UV protection, and the fabrics are also water resistant to stand up to the elements.

INSECT PROOF TECHNOLOGY

These retractable insect screens for the patio, balcony, and porch are engineered to block insects on all four sides of the shade. The top of the shade has a thick pile strip that prevents insects from reaching the roller and keeps them outside the retractable screen. The bottom of the shade has a 1” hem bar seal strip, which flexes and compresses to ensure a rich closure even over uneven surfaces.

The hem bar is more durable and practical than a bottom pile strip. For the sides of the retractable insect screen, Insolroll® uses the time-proven SHY Zip technology. Specialized tracks capture the zipper edge of the shade fabric, which seals the edges and keeps the material taut. Insolroll® also offers two specialized TuffScreen fabrics designed to block out even smaller insects.
